So you’re dating a guy and he tells you, “I need a break to figure out how I feel about things”. That sucks- so what do you do? In this video, best-selling author and love coach Matt Boggs shares the three things that you can do when your boyfriend wants a break.
At the end of this video, he’s gonna give you six words that you will use as your mantra that will empower you, that will create a grounded sense of peace in you and that will help carry you through this experience.
Step one: Set up time to reconnect.
What you wanna do is set up a time to talk. It’s useful for two things. When you know you’re gonna talk at this place and this time, you’re gonna relax and start living your amazing life. You can then let that person have his time while you focus on you, your friends, your family and pour yourself into moving your life in the direction that you would love. The second thing that this does is help him get clear. It’s not time that creates clarity. What creates clarity is the courage to dive deep into the hard questions. When you have a deadline on that, he knows that he needs to be clear when that moment comes.
Step two: Give him space.
The space actually creates contrast. When you give him space, you’re actually giving him contrast of what life is like without you. When he starts experiencing what life is like without you- without the joyful times, without the laughs, without all the fun things you do together. So when you give him time without you, you’re really giving him the gift of feeling what life is like without you. In that way, he can become clear.
Step three: Burn into your mind this mantra- the best is yet to come.
That is the truth- the best is yet to come for you. It can be hard to deal with this situation. What you’re experiencing is the best that you want is pulling away. But when you expand your view long-term, you realize that we live in the Universe that delights in expansion. It wants and seeks greater growth. The Universe wants to bring you something amazing. It’s either gonna be this man or if he removes himself from your life, ask yourself this question, “Is the Universe gonna bring me someone worse or better”? What do you believe? What you wanna do is while he’s figuring things out, you wanna work on developing your great life.
